The organ in Presteigne Baptist Church

The organ was built in 1950 by the firm of Harris Organs, of Birmingham, given by Mrs Pullman of Sutton Coldfield in memory of her parents, Mr & Mrs Wale of ‘Silia’ in Presteigne.  The organ is operated by electric action and has 410 pipes.

The opening of the organ took place on 3 August 1950, with the opening recital given on 20 November that year.  The soloist for the opening was the celebrated theatre organist and BBC personality, Sandy Macpherson.
